Two foxes born from the packs, Shadow of Dark Pack and Swift of Light Pack, met each other and over time became friends. The packs were bitter enemies, and anyone who stood in between would die. When the two fell in love they realized that their lives were at stake, unable to let go of each other they ran off to form their own pack, Moon Pack. This is the story of how they met and their pack.
PROLOGUE
(sorry it is sort )
The last of the fox kits settled down as the old fox sat down, his eyes gleaming in the moonlight. "Once, long ago, there were two packs: one of light and one of darkness. The packs were bitter enemies and would kill anyone who got in the way. Many battles raged between the packs and many were trained to hate the other pack at a very young age. But one day two young foxes met at the border, Shadow of Dark Pack and Swift of Light Pack. They became friends and soon met every half-moon." –He stopped to glare at two younger kits fighting in the back. "They knew that if their packs found out they would be killed.(sorry it is sort )
"So they ran away and created a new pack, Moon pack. It is said that their descendants have great powers, but no one knows if it is true, because anyone that sees it never returns to tell anyone..." The old fox's eyes gleamed amber in the moon's light as he finished." Please tell us more, Stone!" One of the kits begged. Stone narrowed his eyes and shook his grey pelt. "I would if you would stop messing around!" He snapped at the young foxes. Some of the younger fox kits flinched, but the older ones were used to his quick temper. "We will!" The older fox kits promised loudly, but not too loud as to wake the adults. The kits in the back only mumbled the words, frustrated that they had ruined it.
Stone growled and looked up at the half moon; it was almost midnight. He shook his head. "It's late; I'll tell you the rest in the morning," the kit's groaned, but didn't protest. He watched them for a moment then padded out of the shadows. The moon illuminated his grey pelt tuning it almost silver. He gazed up at the stars and closed his eyes. He had done much for this pack, his time was near. He was too old to go on for too much longer. He was one who helped form this pack from the very roots!
He could still remember the day when he looked up at the half moon and saw this pack. The day Swift was born. "My promise is almost fulfilled," he whispered and slipped into his den...
Chapter 1
Swift toppled over the older kit, she loved to play with Weed; he was nice and fair, not at all like his brothers. A sharp commanding bark sounded and Weed perked up and looked over at the fox that made the noise. It was Sharp, the Alpha of her pack. Sharp barked again and Weed trotted over to him with his body in a submissive posture. They walked away and left Swift alone to watch them as they left her to her usual routine of boredom.
Swift sighed and went back to her den where her mother and sister were sleeping. Last time she woke one of them up she had ended up caring for Thistle, the cranky elder who snapped kit’s tails off. At least that is what she had heard from Weed’s brother Thunder, but Weed had told her not to believe him. Swift padded away with her white tail dragging in the grass. Why didn’t anyone want to play with her?
She saw Stone come into the camp with grass in his jaws for bedding and perked up. She and Stone had been friends ever since she was born, he would play with her! Swift bounded over to him, but he shook his head. She stopped and watched in confusion. Why didn’t he want to play? They always played together before he did his duties. She frowned and looked for something to do in the camp. In the camp; did she really have to stay here and play? No one ever paid attention to her; she could sneak out and be back before her mum woke up!
The white fox slowly padded over to the small whole where she could slip into. She knew no one would see her, but it was best to be careful anyways. Swift slipped through the hole and smiled in relief; no one had caught her! She ran as fast as she could through the grass, which was faster than any other fox kit according to her father. She stopped suddenly, what would her father say to her sneaking out? Swift shuddered and ran faster.
